Bunyan's main building was built a little before 1900, with an additional building added in the 1920s. These premises have been incredibly helpful for the many generations they've served, hosting services, events, meetings, parties, and much much more over the last century... But over the years, the sorts of activities that are run on the site, the way it's used, and what's expected from a church and community building, had changed drastically! As a church, we are desperate to upgrade our facilites, so we can better serve our local community, and can better provide a warm welcome to the hundreds of people per week who already use the site.

As such, the members of Bunyan Baptist Church has committed to a significant scheme of works, that will be a huge improvement to the site, meaning that:

- The whole site will be accessible to all people, taking out steps, and adding new, wider doorways

- The toilets will be upgraded, including the provision of a fully accessible loo, furnished with a hoist and changing table

- Each room and meeting space will have access to loos and refreshments, rather than the kitchen and loos being accessible through a meeting space

- Users of our main small-group meeting space, including our youth group, will no longer have to go outside to access the loo and kitchen!

- The whole site will be more environmentally friendly as we invest in more effective, intelligent heating systems and improved insulation.

The members and regular attenders of the church, supported by some grant funding from the Allchurces Trust and the Central Baptist Association, have been able to gather enough funding to get the project started, but as the church looks to invest in the local area, providing a resource for the whole community, there is so much more that could be done, to create a facility that will serve the church and town for generations to come!
