Children's Emergency Department
Organised by Dudley Group NHS CharityHospitals can be a scary place, especially for children. We want to make things better for children when they are treated in our Emergency Department.
Story
We want all our younger patients who attend the emergency department to not just receive the best care but also to have the best possible experience.
The Trust charity would like to improve the environment in which we treat our younger patients. We are paying particular attention to our more vulnerable patients and those with special needs.
We aim to pay special attention to the Childrens waiting area and consulting rooms; to make sure they are equipped with sensory items for distraction. It is simple changes, such as this, that make such a big difference to a child's first, and lasting, impressions of their visit to our hospital.
We are also looking at the environment where teenagers are treated; and see what positive differences can be made here.
