Make a Medic is excited to announce our brand-new initiative - the Steth of Hope project!
All current and former medical students have experienced the excitement of owning your first stethoscope, whether that was given by your medical school or gifted by a loved one. It is a warming feeling that fans your enthusiasm and makes you feel that little bit closer to becoming a doctor. In some parts of the world, however, medical students are not quite so lucky.
Make a Medic has partnered with Glia, a Canadian company that creates high-quality, low-cost medical hardware using innovative technological methods such as 3D printing. This summer, we will be sending a shipment of stethoscopes to Egerton University in Kenya, and University of Zambia Medical School to facilitate the education of their medical students as they enter the clinical world.
If you make a donation of £10 or more, you can write a short message with your donation (anonymously or publicly) which will be printed and given to a student in Kenya or Zambia alongside the stethoscope that you have sponsored!
