Story

We are delighted that with off line donations and pledges we are now a quarter of the way to our ambitious target!

Although many more children in south India are going to school than in the past, there are still far too many who fall through the gaps in the system. Batemans-Satkaarya want to help children with learning difficulties, girls (who are often prevented from going to school because of a lack of adequate toilet facilities), and the children of migrant workers and Anglo-Indians who find it difficult to enrol in state schools. We want to expand our existing operation by building our own school and community education centre to help these children from marginalised communities who, without support, risk falling victim to child labour, trafficking, prostitution and a life of poverty. By being part of the Grand 100, you are making this possible.

You can make your pledge by sending an email to grand100@batemans.org.uk. Or you can donate £1,000 right now on this JustGiving page.

Find out more information on the Grand 100 page of our website.
