Bird Aid Works

2025 is our 15 year anniversary. After so much time, our aviaries now need urgent repairs so that we can continue to take in more casualties and baby birds.
2025 is our 15 year anniversary. After so much time, our aviaries now need urgent repairs so that we can continue to take in more casualties and baby birds.
Urgent building work is needed to save more Gulls.
First and foremost, we desperately need funds to re-roof older aviaries and conduct extensive groundworks and repair predator proofing on our main aviaries. These improvements are not merely cosmetic; they are essential for the health and safety of the birds in our care. The threat of avian flu looms large, thus necessitating a 100% predator-proof and bio-secure environment. Furthermore, the recent emergence of mink in the vicinity exacerbates this urgency, as these predators pose a significant risk to our vulnerable charges.
Additionally, the construction of a gated entrance is critical for the secure management of our facilities, ensuring that we can optimize our operational effectiveness and maintain a safe haven for gulls during the forthcoming baby season. Without the completion of these infrastructure improvements, Bird Aid may be compelled to close its doors, depriving countless gulls of the care they desperately need.
We have already completed our isolation facilities and done extensive repairs over the winter but cannot complete all the work needed without more funds.
Please give anything you can afford so that we can be here for these magnificent birds.
