Story
I can see improvement in my child’s learning. I am very happy with the progress he has made. He has improved socially as well as in his language and communication. I am very grateful and happy with the Homework Club, I would just like to say thank you to the staff.
Children from deprived areas are less likely to achieve the expected levels in numeracy and literacy than their peers¹ -- but we know that this is the result of fewer resources and opportunities, and not because of a lack of ability.
We know this because we have been working with children from some of the most deprived areas of Glasgow since 2018 and have seen first-hand the incredible things kids can achieve when given the right support.
We have a dedicated team of volunteer tutors that support over 60 primary and secondary school students in Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology through one-to-one tutoring delivered at Kinning Park Complex and Clyde Community Hall.
Our tutoring sessions are tailored to the individual needs of each student, with tutors making use of high-quality study materials and resources to help with homework, exam preparation, and to develop bespoke lesson plans.
We know that this student-centred approach to learning works: two-thirds of our students tell us they feel 'much more' confident and capable following their sessions, with the remaining third stating that they feel 'a little more' confident and capable.
By donating, you are helping disadvantaged young people in Glasgow to feel more confident and capable, ultimately putting them on the path to a brighter future. And for that we cannot thank you enough.
