Story
Quarry pond? Moon crater experience? Or a car park?
If you’ve been down to the Ben Rhydding Sport Club recently you won’t fail to have noticed how bad the car park is. Despite several repair attempts over the years, the surface has continued to deteriorate and it’s now clear that the real issue lies underneath.
The drainage system has completely failed, which is why recent patch repairs haven’t made much difference. Fixing the drainage alone will cost over £25,000, and that’s before any resurfacing work even begins.
The long-term solution would involve a full redevelopment of the car park, a project likely to cost £200,000–£300,000. While that remains our ultimate goal, our immediate priority is to raise enough funds to repair the drainage and carry out essential surface improvements that will benefit all users of Ben Rhydding Sports Club.
Clubs and groups across BRSC are coming together to support this fundraiser. Our aim is to raise enough to complete the drainage work and initial resurfacing by this summer. Any additional funds raised will be ring-fenced for further improvements, maintenance, and future repairs.
Whether you’re a club member, school parent, regular facility user, or a local resident who wants to support an important community hub, every donation will make a difference.
