Boxing is our most popular activity. The programme uses boxing – the discipline, focus, self-reliance to help teach young people, who are often angry and have terrible experiences, and are vulnerable to mental health problems how to manage life. To be a good boxer, being calm is important, managing emotions in the ring is imperative to winning a fight. These transferable life skills are crucial for the future of the young people in this area. Our boxing coaches are positive role models for the children, nurturing their physical, social and emotional abilities as they grow and develop. Dalgarno Trust and Dalgarno Amateur Boxing Club breaks the negative cycle many of these young people experience.
