In the past weeks, tensions in southern Syria have forced hundreds of families to flee their homes. Many have found temporary shelter in schools and overcrowded spaces in the areas around Daraa and Busr al-Harir, but conditions are dire.
Our team was recently able to access the region and conduct a rapid assessment. What we found was urgent:
🛑 Families lacking basic food supplies
🛑 A huge need for blankets, mattresses, and hygiene items
🛑 Overstretched health centres with limited medications for chronic conditions
One school we visited is now home to approximately 580 families, living in extremely vulnerable conditions. We were able to bring some emergency supplies, but the needs far outweigh what we can provide alone.
That’s why we’re asking for your support.
Your donation will help us provide:
🟢 Essential food provisions for displaced families
🟢 Basic non-food items like blankets and mattresses
🟢 Medical supplies and medications where urgently needed
Please note: These needs are based on our initial rapid assessment end of July. We always work in coordination with governmental bodies and other humanitarian organisations on the ground and keep following developments closely, in order to make the most impact and fill essential gaps. We will keep you posted through social media on aid given and important changes or developments.
💙 Every pound, euro or dollar you give goes directly to helping people survive this crisis with dignity and care, regardless of background, religion, or ethnicity.
Please give what you can. Together, we can reach those most in need.
