Story

In response to financial difficulties being faced by members of the Farnham community, 12 Farnham organisations got together with Farnham Town Council and the Farnham Maltings to create the Farnham Coronavirus Support Fund.

Between them, they contributed £22,000 to start the fund and this is already being used to help people facing hardship.

The fund invites applications for up to £300 from Farnham residents who need urgent assistance with essentials such as:

Paying for gas or electric

Providing food

Replacing an essential household appliance such as a cooker

Acquiring equipment eg wheelchair, care alarm service etc

Getting furniture and household items like a bed and bedding

Other urgent needs.

Applications are being administered by Farnham Town Council with support from a panel of Farnham organisations.

Farnham Lions agreed to process online donations through their Just Giving page so you have the option of Gift Aid.

Further information about the fund, including how to apply, can be found at:

The main thing that members of Farnham Lions Club have in common is an interest in serving those less fortunate than ourselves in the community, and enjoying good fellowship and fun in the process.
