40 at 40 - Securing the Next 40 Years
This year marks a special milestone for Halesowen Abbey Trust:
40 years of protecting local countryside and championing conservation for the benefit of everyone.
Since 1986, the Trust has worked to safeguard some of Halesowen's most valued landscapes, ensuring they remain open, cared for, and enjoyed by the public. One of our proudest achievements is the Leasowes Walled Garden - a place saved by community action and, in 2014, secured in perpetuity for public benefit.
To celebrate our 40th anniversary, we are launching "40 at 40" - a fundraising campaign with a clear and ambitious goal: to raise £40,000 to support the future of the Trust and the Leasowes Walled Garden.
This campaign is about more than money. It is about:
Honouring the commitment of those who founded and sustained the Trust.
Celebrating the volunteers, supporters, and partners who care for these spaces today.
Investing in the next 40 years of conservation, education, and public access.
Over the coming months, we will be sharing stories from our past, opening up the garden for events and activities, and inviting the community to take part in 40-themed ways to support the Trust - whether through donations, challenges, volunteering, or simply spreading the word.
The campaign will mark its midway point in a celebratory event on Saturday 27th June at the Leasowes Walled Garden – ahead of its anniversary on 24th September – bringing together everyone who has helped shape the Trust's journey and those who we hope will help shape its future.
If you value green spaces, local heritage, and community-led conservation, we invite you to be part of 40 at 40 and help secure these special places for generations to come. To find out more, search for 'Leasowes Walled Garden' on Facebook.
