Story
Mittens is a young bunny who arrived at the rescue in February 2019. Upon arrival, we noticed that Mittens was incredibly underweight and we soon realised why! Poor Mittens has very severe dental problems which mean she can't eat her nuggets, vegetables and, most importantly, hay. Since joining us, Mittens has been fed a critical care formula meaning she gets the nutrients she needs, but doesn't have to use her teeth. Rabbits are prey animals and, consequently, are very good at hiding pain, but Mittens has made it very obvious that she isn't comfortable so her teeth must be hurting her a lot!
Our fantastic vets offered two options for Mittens. The first was to take her to the vet every 5-6 weeks for her teeth to be cut down, but this would mean frequent car journeys and unnecessary stress for a rabbit who has already been through so much. The second option was to remove her incisors completely so that she is no longer in pain and to avoid Mittens needing long-term veterinary treatment. We feel this is the best option for Mittens, but now need to raise the money needed for the operation.
If you can spare a pound or two or can buy something from our online shop, all of the proceeds will be going straight to Mittens to help her get the operation she deserves.
Thank you!
