Story
Thank you for visiting the Norman Hunter Golf Day 2024 campaign page.
Norman was an incredibly cherished and loved member of the Hunter family, and in his memory, the Golf Day 2024 fundraises for Leeds Cancer Centre at Bexley.
The past three golf days have raised over £110,000 for Leukemia research.

Norman began his football career with Leeds United in 1959 and was part of the FIFA 1966 World Cup winning squad where he rose to international fame. He was given the nickname "Bites Yer Legs" Hunter, known as a tough tackling centre half and defensive midfielder on the pitch.
In 2013, Norman was diagnosed with Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) and was receiving treatment at Leeds Cancer Centre. He sadly died aged 76 in April 2020 after contracting COVID-19.
Professor Peter Hillmen, Consultant in Clinical Haematology at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, whose team looked after Norman for seven years said:
Norman was a humble and delightful gentleman; it was an honour to care for him and I'm so grateful to his family for putting on this golf day to support research into CLL here in Leeds. The money raised through this fantastic event in Normans memory will make a huge difference to the research, treatment and care we can offer to patients at Leeds Cancer Centre.
Sponsoring the day includes advertisement of your company within the programme, company logo on backdrop banner and company logo on a hole. Sponsorship of any prize / hole over £500 will include an A5 page in the programme.
We are very much hoping that you will be able to assist us in sponsorship of the Norman Hunter Golf Day 2024.
