Story
Fifteen candles. One big wish.
This year, RAWD turns 15 years old - fifteen years of radical creativity, disabled-led performance, and fearless joy and pride.
To mark this milestone, we’re launching 15 for 15, a campaign to raise £15,000 and secure RAWD’s future for the next 15 years.
From a small drama group in a church hall in 2011 to packed-out theatres and national tours in 2025, RAWD has spent the last decade and a half amplifying the voices of learning disabled artists.
“RAWD is exceptional. Our daughter can’t wait to get there every week. Her confidence has soared.” - RAWD Member’s Parent
Now, in an increasingly difficult funding climate, we need your help to keep that magic alive.
Over the next year, we’re inviting our community of artists, allies, and audiences to take part in “15-themed” challenges and events - from baking 15 cakes to dancing for 15 hours to raising £15 for the cause. Every act, every pound, every share helps us keep creativity accessible for everyone.
Your donations will directly fund:
Weekly creative sessions for over 90 disabled artists.
Professional shows and performances across the North West.
Training and employment for disabled creatives.
Outreach projects that build pride, protest, and inclusion.
This fundraiser campaign is about more than raising money - it’s about raising visibility, equality, and opportunity.
Together, let’s make sure RAWD is still here in another fifteen years.
