Help Us Keep a Roof Over TEAM RISE
We never imagined we'd have to write this appeal.
TEAM RISE has been hit with an unexpected bill of £20,000 to replace the roof at our home in Brierfield.
For a small local charity like ours, £20,000 is an enormous amount of money.
Money we raise is supposed to be spent doing what TEAM RISE exists to do — supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism, tackling loneliness and social isolation, creating opportunities, building confidence and, above all, giving people somewhere they feel they belong.
Instead, we are now facing the prospect of having to find £20,000 simply to keep a safe roof over that place.
And this building is so much more than bricks and mortar.
Every week, more than 100 people rely on TEAM RISE.
Behind our doors you'll find people learning new skills, cooking together, gardening, creating, laughing, heading out on trips and making friendships that can genuinely change their week.
For some of our members, TEAM RISE is one of the most important parts of their lives.
It's somewhere they are welcomed.
Somewhere they are understood.
Somewhere they can be themselves.
Somewhere they have friends.
And that's why this roof matters so much.
£20,000 could have a huge impact on our charity
We are incredibly proud of what TEAM RISE has built, but we are not a large national organisation with huge reserves and endless resources.
We are a local East Lancashire charity trying to make every pound we receive count.
Finding an unexpected £20,000 for a roof will put enormous pressure on our finances and could threaten our ability to continue providing the services our members depend upon.
We don't want money intended for activities, opportunities and support to disappear into a building repair.
So we're asking our community for help.
Can you help us keep a roof over TEAM RISE?
We're trying to raise £20,000 towards the cost of replacing the roof.
Whether you can give £5, £10, £20, £50, £100 or more, every donation takes us another step towards protecting TEAM RISE and the people who rely on us.
If you're unable to donate, you can still make an enormous difference by sharing this appeal with your friends, family, colleagues or employer.
And we'd particularly love to hear from local businesses that might be able to help through sponsorship, fundraising, materials, professional expertise or practical support.
