Story

At last, #TeamWISHH from 2020 plus a few additions, are getting ready to take part in the Hull Run for All on the 12th June 2022!

Our incredible team of runners have signed up to be part of the Hull10k or Half Marathon. We couldn't be more proud of each and every one of our team and we're so grateful that you want to support them.

All the funds raised by our runners will help us develop a second phase of sensory facilities at Hull's Eye Hospital, to support children with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, ADD, anxiety and children who have experience trauma. The video below gives a little insight into how a child with sensory issues sees the world.

Each year, the Eye Hospital cares for 15,000 children. Hospital visits can be stressful for anyone but adding sensory issues to that can be unbearable for some children. Your donations will enable us to create safe and calming spaces for children and young people, where they can get away from the hustle and bustle of the hospital that may be too much for them. Sensory areas will feature colourful lights, soothing music, low lighting along with specially designed equipment and toys that are perfect for children to be able to feel more at ease which makes appointments far easier for them.

The Hull Run for All is now in its 11th year and showcases the very best that Hull has to offer such as The Deep, Humber Dock Marina and Queens Gardens. It has become one of the region's most popular runs.

We hope you'll support our fantastic team and be a part of creating something wonderful for the some of our city's most vulnerable children.

We still have a few places available and it you would like to join #TeamWISHH, please email lisa.whitton3@nhs.net
