With over 6 thousand deaths and many more wounded, the people of Yemen have been the target of Saudi Arabia-led coalition airstrikes since 2015. Now, suffering from the afflictions of the war, poverty, famine and the Covid pandemic, the people of Yemen are currently experiencing the world's worst humanitarian crisis and are in urgent need of our help to ensure their health and safety.
Al-Basateen is a suburban neighbourhood located in Dar Sa'ad district, on the outskirts of the city of Aden, and is hosting some of the most vulnerable displaced and returning families, and a host community. Families are living in dire conditions, including makeshift shelters lacking in privacy. Water and sanitation services are weak, placing the population at serious risk of disease, including cholera and more than 13 million civilians are suffering from a food shortage and lack of crucial medical .
The Ribaat Outreach team have volunteers working on the ground in one of the most affected areas in Al-Basateen to ensure the civilians seeking help are being taken care of. Thousands of children are dying due to malnutrition or disease with millions of families seeking shelter and safety. Each food package per family costs £15 and consists of:
