This planned project will see our 10 en-suite, patient bedrooms completely transformed to help our patients and those close to them feel more comfortable and relaxed during their stay.  Specifically the improvements will include new specialist beds, integral hoists, air conditioning and piped oxygen which will allow our nurses to give the best possible standards of patient care.  New en- suite wet rooms, furniture and décor will create a peaceful, homely environment for our patients and their families.We are really excited that the Morrisons Foundation, the charitable arm of the Bradford-based supermarket chain, has already pledged £300,000 towards the project and we are now asking our own 'crowd' of Barnsley people for help to raise the further £200,000 needed.Sam Burden, Morrisons Foundation specialist, said:“We support charities which make a positive difference in local communities and we know that Barnsley Hospice does just that. Her mother, Joyce Hirst, spent two weeks at the Hospice during the summer of 2013, before her death from pancreatic cancer. My mum received outstanding care during her time at the Hospice and for that I'll always be grateful.
