We are brainstrust – the brain cancer people. We are the community to turn to when things get difficult. We provide support to all people affected by a devastating brain tumour diagnosis, 24/7. We’ll help you to feel less alone, better resourced, supported and on top of things. From our own personal experience, we truly know what it means to hear those words. 

Our help starts with a brain box, posted with no charge, to any brain tumour patient or carer who needs it.

'brainstrust sent me a brain box - a lifeline after diagnosis. In addition to key information and books, there was a t-shirt, teabags, simple things that reminded me to look after myself. The most significant impact was the feeling that at last someone was listening, and helping me make sense of what was happening.'

The brain box is the must have toolkit for people with a brain tumour and their carers, containing essential tools to support and provide information.

Last year, we sent 380 brain boxes to brain tumour patients. This year, we have already sent that amount, and by the end of 2018 will have sent in the region of 1000 brain boxes. The cost of a brain box to brainstrust is £40, but these are provided to our patients and carers completely free of charge.

As we continue to support more patients than ever, so we must cover the cost of more brain boxes than ever before. That is why we are launching our brain box appeal. £40,000 will cover the cost of making 1000 brain boxes.
