Story
Here at Dudley Canal & Tunnel Trust, we're always looking for new and exciting ways to introduce people to the work that we do. Our latest project hopes to create a unique underground exhibition of life-size, animatronic dinosaurs which visitors will engage with through a 50 minute skipper-guided boat trip, in the style of a prehistoric safari. Visitors will create unforgettable memories and be inspired by the fascinating science of geology!
As well as taking families on boat trips into millennia past, we'll also be working with local schools to offer a day out that supports the curriculum and provides truly amazing moments that students won't soon forget. If we raise enough money we'll have downloadable free resources for schools to support their prehistoric adventures, as well as activity sheets for families.
The exhibition will cost us around £150,000 to put on, so you might be thinking that our target seems very low. We hope to attract grant support from large funders for the project too, and our target here is for the public contribution pot that many grant funders want charities to have for projects like this. So, whilst only being a fraction of the total cost, in many ways this money is the most important fundraising we'll do for this project.
We need your help to make this completely unique experience a reality. Could you give money for a megladon or donate towards a diplodocus?
We're always happy to acknowledge our more generous donors - any individual donor who gives over £100 and leaves their name with it will get a shout out of thanks across our social media platforms!
