Story

Now in its fifth year, the Surviving Winter campaign began as a vehicle for generous pensioners to ‘recycle’ their Winter Fuel payments and has now developed into a giving portal for anyone who wants to help support the vulnerable people of Hertfordshire to be well and warm during the winter months.

There are an estimated 34,000 households living in fuel poverty in Hertfordshire. People who are forced to choose between eating and heating, and each one needs support, especially when the weather is really cold.

Surviving Winter is a simple and efficient way to alleviate genuine need in Hertfordshire. We work with partner organisations such as Age UK Hertfordshire and the Hertfordshire Foodbanks to identify those who really need help.

If you can afford to live comfortably this winter, please help someone who can’t. Your donation goes directly to someone in Hertfordshire who needs it.

About the charity

HCF exists to improve the lives of people living in Hertfordshire. Donations are pooled and given out as grants to small local charities and voluntary groups. Grants can be for both new initiatives and existing projects. Your gift will help our county's most vulnerable residents.
