Story
Thursday 12th April is International Day for Street Children, a day which aims to increase attention around the world on the need for equal rights and protection for street children everywhere – all 150 million of them. We in Kidasha have been supporting street children in Nepal for almost 15 years, providing them safe shelter, guidance to develop the skills and resilience to thrive, and supporting them to return to their families and a more normal childhood.
On this day, we particularly want to increase awareness of the plight of street children in Nepal, a country famous for Everest but little known for the chronic poverty in which so many children live. At the same time we want to raise much needed funds to be able to sustain the support we provide and which the children we support so desperately need. We aim to do this by encouraging our supporters to take a silly selfie and post it on social media, whilst making a small (or big!) donation and persuading a handful of their friends to do the same. With your support we aim to raise at least £8848 – £1 for each metre of Everest.
