Story
THANK YOU to EVERYONE who has donated - we are truly appreciative of your support for us. Sarah's story even made the local newspaper (see link) and Joe cycled round 26 miles too. Next year we are planning on the London to Southend bike ride (52 miles) and are looking for team members......

Friday 13th April 2007, an unlucky date, and this it certainly was, for my wife and mother to our two young children, Sarah was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML). Sarah had turned into a statistic:
• every two minutes someone else is diagnosed with cancer in the UK.
• More than 1 in 3 people will develop some form of cancer during their lifetime.
• there are 285,000 new cases of cancer diagnosed each year in the UK (of this number 7,000 people are diagnosed with Leukaemia),
Yes, these statistics are alarming but you can be unaware of the enormity of the battle that lie ahead.
Thankfully, Sarah showed tremendous courage and determination during her four month intensive course of chemotherapy to win her battle against AML. Sarah has now been in remission for just over a year and everyday brings its new challenge but also new hope and joy as her lust for life knows no bounds.
So, now it is time for us to give something back. We aim to follow up on the success of the British cycling team at the Beijing Olympics and peddle through the streets of the Essex Riviera. We are aiming to raise some funds for Leukaemia Research as we have entered the Southend Bikeathon:
Sarah is cycling 13 miles (1 lap)
Stuart is cycling 26 miles (2 laps)
Leukaemia Research is not government funded, relying entirely on donations, so that they can continue there amazing work; without them Sarah would not be here along with thousands of other adults and children who are winning their battles.
No matter how big or small your donation, we can help thousands of lives effected by Leukaemia each year.
