Okay, I've done many fundraising things in my time, but never something that fills me with trepidation! As for the heights thing, well actually, I'm okay. I'm fine when it comes to flying, I don't mind standing on a ridge and looking down, but when I think of my feet actually leaving something solid and dangling with 150ft below me, well I'll be honest, it actually petrifies me.
So this is no easy task that I have set myself and that's the point. I have the privilege of seeing the many people who Quarriers support on a daily basis. Fantastic personalities who have had a tough start in life, who have to live with with daily struggles that put them at a disadvantage to the rest of us, but who strive to live as independent a life as possible. And that's where Quarriers comes in. They support adults with a disability, children and families, people with epilepsy and young homeless people to overcome their daily struggles.
So I'm asking you to firstly spare a thought for the people I've described above, then think about how hilarious it will be watching a six foot five guy tremble at the knees (literally) and then spare a few quid to make it all worthwhile.
Thank you so much.
Marc
