Story

Thanks for visiting our group fund-raising page for our upcoming 100km Coast to Coast cycle.  We're travelling from Walton Bay, near Bristol, to West Bay near Bridport. Check out our route here: link a total of 103km, barring navigational errors!

There's a real mixed group attempting this.  Young and old, male and female, fit and... well... hopefully fit enough (see below for more info)!

Your sponsorship is much appreciated and will make a difference to the lives of real people, struggling with debt and poverty.  Get yourself over to the CAP website to find out more:  www.capuk.org

We're riding on 9th October 2010, so it may well be wet, cold and windy, just to add to the mix.

Thank you all.

Rider Profile:

Name: Roger
Age: 53
Job: Solicitor
Cycling Experience: This is far beyond anything I have done before, but I am enjoying the challenge. The added bonus is exploring the local countryside under my own power.
I fully support the work of CAP. It provides skilled resolution of debt problems with the added element of caring support to those it helps. It is a service supplied free to all without discrimination. Please give generously.

Hi I’m Steve. I’m a granddad 4½ times over and I work as a project manager all over the UK and sometimes abroad. My interests are watching movies (especially sci-fi), reading and walking. My wife and daughter both work for CAP, so we are pretty committed to the work they do amongst those who need our help - hence my involvement in the sponsored cycle on 9th October. I am reasonably fit (though a bit overweight) but I have never cycled more than 10 miles in my life before training for this little event. If you remember to pray for us on the day, give my knees a special mention, as it would be nice to still have them as part of my legs at the end of the day!

Name: Pete
Age: 31
Job: ICT Teacher
Cycling experience: Done a few big ones before, 100 miles or so, usually off road.  Looking forward to a big road ride.
Notes:   I'm super proud of the people that I'm doing this most of whom have had to start training from little or no experience, but they will tell you about that.  I've witnessed the amazing things that CAP do for people and fully believe in this as a good cause to donate to.  Please give generously!

Name: Jules
Age: 30
Job: Mum and part time dance teacher.
Cycling experience: I've NEVER done anything like this before.  It is such a massive challenge for me but I really believe in the work that CAP do.  Please donate lots (or what you can).

Name: Pete Rogers
Age: 30
Job: Carpenter

Cycling Experience: I love Mountain biking and last year rode 65 miles off-road along the South Downs Way with Pete Bond, this ride will be my first long distance road ride which I am sure will bring it's own unique challenges!

Please give whatever you can to this worthwhile charity that helps so many people in their time of need!

Thank You,
