The VCMF is a fund I set up in memory of my dear mum who left a huge hole in all our lives on December 8th 2008 when she lost her short battle with cancer aged just 50. This page is to keep her memory alive whilst supporting others.

Hello!

And welcome to another fundraising page for the Veronica Claxton Memorial Fund, a fund set up in 2009 in memory of my dear mum and one which has since donated over £380,000 to various good causes. After successfully completing our Target 250k for Young Lives vs Cancer (CLIC Sargent) in early 2020 we are pressing on with trying to support them again as much as we can moving forward.

After successful cycling tours in 2016,2017,2018 and 2019 and a cancellation in 2020 which have seen us raise over £70,000 we are back on the bikes this summer for an epic adventure around the UK, starting off in North Wales and cycling up through the North West of England to the Scottish border before turning for home and making the long loop back to the King of the Belgians pub in Hartford, whilst away we will tackle around 525 miles in 5 days and climb well over 20,000ft. A real gruelling challenge for all involved.

Our cycling team is this year made up of 16 riders and our vital 4 man support crew who are as follows :

Luke Claxton, Andy Park, Paul Innes, Greig Sarath, Mark Ling, Daniel Moyes, Richard Todd, Dave Rigby, Simon Wareing, Adam Cundick, Ade Tattersall, Dougie Gallimore, Nick Dean, Liam Johnson, Glen Huddle, and Paul Jenner and the 4 lads in the vans Andy Claxton, Danny Spud Smith, Craig Green and Dave Pinner.

Please get behind the lads and support us as much as you can via this page. Your support year on year really does mean the world.

Thanks for your time
