Story
Thank you for visiting our 2012 Raft Race WaterAid fundraising page.
The Energy & Carbon Team believes that safe water should be available to everyone.
WaterAid enables the world's poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. These basic human rights underpin health, education & livelihood and form the first essential step in overcoming poverty.
We are taking part in the Thames Water annual one-mile raft race, where we will be battling against 40 other vessels on the River Thames in Reading to win this prestigious title.
We have set ourselves a fundraising target of £1000 and need your help, please dig deep and help us.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
The theme
This year's theme is naturally around the Olympics and the city that have hosted them. Our chosen city is Rio de Janeiro hence the name "Carnival". We want to bring that theme to our costumes and raft so look out for more pictures.
