Each day in the UK five families are told their child has cancer or leukaemia. From that moment on their lives will never be the same again. Most children will survive, some will die, but the scars on every family will remain. CLIC's role is to try and help these children and their families cope and keep life as normal as possible. It offers an all-embracing approach including practical hands-on care, clinical services, financial and emotional support. CLIC has joined together with Sargent Cancer Care for Children to become the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity.

Story

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! I crossed the "finish line" at Government House, Isle of Man at 1139 on Friday 12th May after a 362 mile journey which began at Southampton on 8th May and culminated in a lap of the Isle of Man TT circuit escorted by 7 riders from the Vintage Motorcycle and Royal Enfield Owners Clubs, to a fantastic reception and to receive further contributions which have enabled us to raise MORE THAN DOUBLE our original target. Thanks to each and every one of our supporters, we could only achieve this incredible result with your help! The Challenge is complete-but the appeal remains open until the end of July. Only a few days left, so don't delay, sponsor me today! Once again, many, many thanks to all who have helped us!  The Captain.

Captain Constellation learnt of the great work CLIC Sargent does after his grandson was diagnosed in March 2005 with a cancerous tumour at the age of four and a half. Aggressive treatment was necessary, some of it at a hospital 250 miles from his home, causing major disruption to the daily life of his family. The support of CLIC Sargent is invaluable to them and many such families, but its work can only continue with your help.

Captain Constellation's Challenge was to raise money for CLIC Sargent by riding his restored 1960 Royal Enfield Constellation from Southampton to the Isle of Man and then around the TT Circuit, with Mrs. Constellation driving the Mazda Bongo as support vehicle. The ride began on Monday 8th May 2006 and was successfully completed on Friday 12th!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: CLIC will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now! I've completed my Challenge but donations can still be made until 29th July. Many thanks for your support.
