Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for my

Captain’s Charity

My chosen charity this year is the Glaze Prostate Charity Wales (GLAZE),   www.glazecharity.com

GLAZE is the leading charity in the Principality working with medical professionals in the fight against all prostate diseases, benign and malignant. Its mission is to raise awareness, promote understanding and fund both the latest medical equipment and the training of healthcare professionals

GLAZE has been significant in funding the centre of excellence for Green Light Laser treatment at the Princess of Wales Hospital Bridgend, which is now an eminent teaching unit Headed by Andy Thomas. The aim for GLAZE today is to raise funds to facilitate the continuity of the Green Light Laser treatment and to sustain the quality of the equipment and the necessary consumables for the future in the Princess of Wales Hospital, treatment centre.

A number of our members have already benefited from the treatments that GLAZE has been funding, and many more will do so in the future.

Another key area for funding is to increase the awareness of prostate conditions. In the UK, about 1 in 9 men will get prostate cancer at some point in their lives. Prostate cancer mainly affects men over the age of 50 and your risk increases with age. Early detection and onset of treatment is important...

I shall be donating all funds raised though my Drive-in, social evenings, raffles, tequila drinking! sponsored events, Captain’s Weekend and of course donations to Glaze.

Personal donations can be taken in the office or directly on my charity website  www.justgiving.com/captainpeterbaxendale
