Peter's Pies is proud to be an Official Supporter of the Captains Climb appeal to raise £1m for lung cancer research at Velindre Hospital in Wales.

In September 2010, 15 former Welsh Captains, plus 20 lucky members of the public, will be embarking on a unique adventure when they will attempt to climb to the Roof of Africa to raise funds for lung cancer research in . stands at 19,340ft/5,985m and the Welsh captains, players and current coach Warren Gatland will be tackling the world’s highest standing volcano.

As part of the fundraising and creating general awareness Peter's is repackaging the Peter's Premier Steak & Brains Ale pie as the "Captains Climb Pie" and selling this through retail and food service outlets in Wales from the New Year donating at least 5p per pie sold.

James Osgood, Marketing Director at Peter's who will be taking part in the climb said: "We are thrilled to be involved with Huw Evans and the team; cancer affects so many lives that we can think of no better cause to support. It's going to be a pleasure and a privilege to be part of this £1m fundraiser."

Remember, that at least 5p of every "Captains Climb" pie purchased will go directly to raising £1m for lung cancer research in Wales.
