Story
Thanks for visiting our Car 17’s fundraising page. Rhino Rouge is delighted to be taking part in the Kenyan Rhino Charge once again after a year "off".
Raising money this year will challenge us all but we hope we can help you to understand that Rhino Ark is an important Kenyan charity and the funds raised directly and indirectly benefit Kenyans. In December 2010 Rhino Ark announced its formal commitment to support conservation of other critical ecosystems, other than the Aberdares, starting with Mau Mt. Eburu and Mt. Kenya. Funds raised by the Rhino Charge will now also play an important role in this.
This will be Rhino Rouge’s 7th year and we would love to put our name back on the Tim Nicklin Award – just one more time but more importantly, we are in it to win it, not just the girls trophy.
We would welcome anyone that has any thoughts on us getting a bigger better car and some corporate sponsorship.
Car 17 has raised just under 12 million Kenyan shillings – that is over $160,000 USD as a team over the couple of years.
Car 17 has won the Tim Nicklin Award three times
Car 17’s average result is 12th out of a field of around 58 – 60 cars.
The Rhino Charge is a motor sport event in which entrants will be required to visit a number of points (Guard Posts) while travelling the shortest possible distance across difficult, trackless terrain, where speed is not a necessity. The event is organised in order to raise funds to support the activities of the Rhino Ark Kenya Charitable Trust.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Rhino Ark gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us now!
