Hi All,
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
With less than 3 weeks to go until I face one of my many challenges in life, I thought it was time to get my fundraising hat on and ask you all to kindly sponsor me.. As most of you will know I attempted the London Marathon back in 2006 but didn't make it to the start line due to a hamstring injury, hence why I have left the fundraising to the last minute - I didn't want to jinx anything!!
It's been a tough 6 months of training and I can't believe I am almost there..I have my final long training run to do this Sunday (18+ miles on 12th April) and then it's an easy 2 weeks of CARB loading (that's CARB loading not CHOCOLATE loading, honestly, he he he) until the BIG day..
I have chosen to run for "For Dementia" as it is very close to my heart as my Grandad is affected with dementia.
The charity's main focus is:
To expand the availability of Admiral Nurses (currently only around 60 across the UK), specialist dementia care nurses working in the community and in health and social care settings, supporting family carers and people with dementia.
Although most dementias affect people who are 65+, some people have been known to be diagnosed with dementia as young as 30 - please help to improve the quality of life for people affected by dementia and support family carers by DIGGING deep into your pockets and supporting this cause...
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Dementia Relief Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thanks so much!
