UPDATE:
I've completed the race now - it was tough going due to setting off too fast and cramp towards the end. My time of 4:42:51 was a lot slower than I'd planned but I had a good reason to keep going. And it was worth it all when I gave Rebekah a medal that evening.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
I am running the Cardiff Marathon (yes, that's 26.2 miles) on October 15th to raise money for Guy's & St. Thomas' Hospital Kidney Patients' Association. My niece Rebekah was born critically ill with only one small functioning kidney. Thanks to the care she has received at Guy's and St Thomas' she has lived a very full, normal life until recently. Her condition had worsened over recent months and in June she needed a kidney transplant. Her dad, Paul, donated a kidney and, after a succesful operation, Rebekah is now recovering back at home.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Guy's & St. Thomas' Hospital Kidney Patients' Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
