My story
Thank you for visiting my justgiving page, on the 5th of April 2013, i will be embarking on the hardest journey of my life...
TREKKING THE NORTH POLE!!!
This will involve, Skiing 100 miles in the Last Degree to the North Pole which is a challenging ski expedition crossing the uneven and broken pack ice of the Polar Sea. The forbidding environment is extreme in every way. Temperatures can reach –50 on a windy day and with 24 hours sunlight a day and staying warm is a constant endeavor. The sea ice is always in motion making the terrain unpredictable and difficult to navigate. Whilst you sleep in your tent you can feel and hear the ice moving and breaking below you which can be scary. Team members will pull all their supplies in personal sleds that can weigh up to 100 pounds. Skiing up to 10 hours a day the team will cross the last degree of latitude before arriving at the Geographic North Pole. At any given moment team members may feel exhilarated and
accomplished, or overwhelmed by difficult terrain. It’s all in a day’s work on this classic expedition.

When You Wish Upon a Star are a small charity whose primary aim is to grant the Wishes of children between the ages of 2 - 16 years old suffering from life threatening illnesses. All children have Wishes but for these children and their families that Wish is so much more precious and for the duration of their Wish, these children are able to forget about hospital routines, doctors, gruelling treatments and have the chance to smile, laugh and enjoy life like any other child. Wishes are varied and far reaching. For some it is a trip to Disneyland in Florida or Paris to meet their favourite characters and for others it is the chance to get up close to a favourite pop star of sporting hero. Some children just want books or toys, whilst others want a computer to catch up on school work or keep in touch with their friends. Whatever the Wish, wherever possible, When You Wish Upon a Star will aim to make that Wish come true.
