On the 19 July, I’ll be doing a sponsored walk though the Kingsway Tunnel along with my wife Clare and our son Lucas (in his pram).
Then on 9 August I will be attempting a 5k run through Sefton Park
Both events will go towards raising much needed funds for St John's Hospice and is in memory of my lovely mum Joyce who passed away in February 2009 aged 74.
50 years after being diagnosed with breast cancer and having already overcome 3 lots of cancer treatments , last year she was diagnosed with secondary cancer and following unsuccessful chemo treatment brave as ever she battled on for a further 7 months and hung on to see her first Grandchild come into the world.
For the last couple of months of her life she was cared for by St John’s Hospice in Wirral. Whilst in St John's my mum received a wonderful level of care from sensitive and friendly staff and volunteers. Family and friends were made to feel very welcome and we will always appreciate the kindness shown by everyone at the hospice.
I would now like to do something positive by raising money for a worthy cause by supporting St John's Hospice, a charity predominantly funded by donations which will go towards helping them to continue caring for other patients and families the way they did for my mum.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St John's Hospice in Wirral gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you for your support.
