Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·

Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. This shall be my sixth London Marathon, and the sixth time that I have raised money for the MS Society. I was inspired to run back in 2004, having watched the news reports of Sir Ranulph Fiennes running seven marathons in seven days, just nine months after suffering a heart attack. I had always wanted to run, that was the spur that I needed to actually go and do it.

The other inspiration was my father. He died in 1997, following a seventeen year fight against Multiple Sclerosis. I am always thinking of him, but the most emotional day of the year for me is not his birthday, or the anniversary of his death, but the day of the London Marathon. Waiting in Greenwich Park, nervous ahead of the start of the race, I always end up talking to him, asking him to help me, remembering him. A very emotional time.

Thank you everybody, for this year, and for all the other years when so many of you have supported me.
