Women are still getting breast cancer and dying from it. That’s why Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer have joined forces to become the UK’s largest dedicated breast cancer research charity. And with your help, together we can put an end to breast cancer, once and for all.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page

Well the race is run and what a day it was.  Fantastic weather and a beautiful Autumn scenic run throughClumberPark.  I did really well and came in at 1:43:53.

It was somewhat disconcerting though when a bloke in a white wedding dress complete with veil came sprinting past just after the 4 mile marker!

I’d like to deeply thank everyone who has contributed so far – I’m overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity you have shown and feel privileged to pass on your financial support for such a worthy cause.

For those still considering contributing there is still plenty of time to do so, the minimum donation is only £2 and in ticking the Gift Aid box this grows to £2.56; all donations will be gratefully received.

The very best regards and best wishes to you all

Carl

I've completed a number of fun runs and 10k's over the last couple of years but never run a half marathon.  So this is a first for this distance and also a first from a fund raising point of view.

My personal challenge is to run the distance in under 2 hours and 15 minutes and as it's in October what better charity to support than the Breast Cancer Campaign.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

20 Oct - Now less than a week to go - ran 9 miles on Saturday and i'm still suffering - I could hardly walk yesterday.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

16 Oct 2008 - It's now getting close to race day.  The training is going well; now running 4 miles on a Tuesday and Thursday with a longer run on the Saturday.  you wouldn't believe where I ache and chafe.

I really appreciate all the help you can give - even a small donation is very welcome.

Thanks and best regards to you all.
