Speedo Series - Hampton Court 2012 · 7 October 2012 ·

Our vision is that patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses in our area can choose how and where they want to be cared for towards the end of life. We provide 24/7 responsive Hospice at Home care and support for all the family during the illness and through bereavement.

Story

Start Time: 9am on Sunday 7th October

***** EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL SUNDAY 7TH OCTOBER*****

On Sunday 15 July I will be taking on my biggest challenge yet and swimming 2.25 miles in the Thames! Eek! The swim begins at Hampton Court Bridge and finishes at Kingston Bridge.

Most of you will know that for the past two years I have taken on the challenge of swimming a mile in Victoria Dock, which was hard work but manageable – so more than doubling the distance is going to be some feat! And if I’m totally honest I’m more than a little scared!! But training has begun, so as long as I put in the hard work then I should be able to make it to the finish line in one piece! Hopefully someone will have a very cold sparkly drink waiting for me (hint hint!)

Once again I am swimming in memory of my lovely dad and raising money for the amazing hospices that helped him and my family through his illness. If you can donate to this wonderful cause I would be very grateful.

But more than money I really need your support, it’s is a long distance to swim and the more people I have cheering me on from the sidelines the better! This is a great course as you can walk the whole of the swim if you want to. Hopefully it will be a lovely day and we can all have a celebratory drink along the river afterwards. Thank you all in advance.
