The issue of homelessness has been close to my heart for a while now. We are often aware of horrendous situations worldwide but don't always see the misery on our own doorsteps. I meet many people in my work at their very lowest on the streets with no self esteem or hope. Without accommodation, something most of us take for granted, it's an uphill struggle to improve their situation, whatever that may be.
In todays climate more and more families on low incomes are going to be at risk of losing their homes through repossessions and this is going to put an incredible strain on already burdened housing providers. Please support me by raising money for an organisation whose very reason for being is to provide shelter and accommodation for those in need. Having never run a marathon in my life I'm prepared to do the hard work and take the strain, at my great age!! in return for whatever you feel you are able to give.
