WaterAid is an international not-for-profit, determined to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation. Only by tackling these three essentials in ways that last can people change their lives for good.

Story

WaterAid help the world’s poorest communities to transform their lives with clean water.1 in 10 people don’t have access to safe water and 1 in 3 don’t have access to a decent toilet. We want a world where everyone everywhere has these basic human rights by 2030. Together we can make that happen.

In August 2018 I will be trekking alongside 99 other HSBC colleagues within the Arctic Circle in Greenland to raise funds for WaterAid. During that time we will give up many things we take for granted, like luxury hot showers, toilet facilities, a proper bed, heating and, of course, gourmet food. We will trek 100 km across the wilderness, carrying all our personal belongings plus camping equipment in massive backpacks.

I know that for those who know me it might come as a bit of surprise that I agreed to go camping with 99 colleagues. Please remember I am doing it to support a great cause, so thank you very much for your generosity!

The trip is self funded and all proceeds go to WaterAid.
