At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for visiting my page !

The number of people suffering from dementia is increasing ! It can be a very lonely disease , poorly diagnosed , stigmatised with sufferers and carers left feeling isolated . It is often the most feared of diseases later in life . Whilst it does not just affect older people , they are the majority and I feel very strongly that those who have contributed to both society and often to ourselves through being our parents and grandparents , should not be left uncared for and excluded because we are unsure how to help

I've seen first hand the distress of both sufferers and carers alike through my own grandad and my best friends mum .

What the Alzheimer's charities do is support sufferers 'Live  Well ' by providing practical and relevant support to both sufferers and carers.

I've picked the RAB as my challenge as a 'late to the party' cyclist with a dodgy right leg , the wrong side of 50 and no time to train ......I thought it would share some of the dedication and resilience that others show every day with little or no recognition for what they do in helping those who suffer from Dementia , and a genuine physical challenge that I really hope you will get behind and support !

Thanks for reading this .
