We have done it again........that is, decided to run another marathon

We have always had this bizzare streak in us that has wanted to run The London Marathon.
Having run 2007 Berlin Marathon together , We decided to run in our home country marathon. We balloted for places for The Big One and although Lorraine got accepted l didn't, therefore we made the joint decision to raise money for a truly worthwhile charity together, thus enabling me to to join Lorraine in our second marathon run together.
We are raising money for a tiny but enormously important charity l know through my years as a community midwife and now through working in The Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit at Portsmouth.
The charity is Action on Pre-Eclampsia (APEC)
Pre-Eclampsia is a condition that affects pregnant women.
It's many symptoms include uncontrollable increasing blood pressure and potential kidney damage. It can occur very early in pregnancy and at present has no cure apart from delivering the baby.
In extreme cases it can be fatal for both mother and baby.
A large percentage of our very premature babies are born to mother's who have suffered from Pre-Eclampsia.
APEC offers much needed support to these parent's. It also educates and supports health professional's through conferences, leaflets for pregnant women and telephone advice.
PLEASE help us achieve our goal of raising AT LEAST our fundraising target.
