Thirteen half marathons and three marathons later and I said never again!!  But in September 2009, my beautiful sister Lisa was diagnosed with breast cancer; something I never thought would happen so close to "home".  I had already run for the campaign for a number of years, in memory and in celebration of friends with breast cancer.

So running the Great North Run is a special race for me for a number of reasons, the main being I am doing it for Lisa who today is feeling good, looking good and most importantly looking forward!

Training has just started and I am looking forward to 19th September coming through the finishing line for a very special lady.
