Hello, welcome and thank you for visiting our justgiving page.

We had a lovely wedding in September and are now looking forward to our Honeymoon in...Nepal.  As we have lived in several places and collected just about everything we could ever need for our home we decided not to have a wedding gift list and would like to raise money to support a good cause.

We contacted the Esther Benjamins Trust who are based in Nepal and who have agreed that the money we raise in place of gifts will go directly to funding a project in Bhairahawa in southwest Nepal.

The project combines two workshops, one for deaf school leavers (who struggle to find work in Nepal) and the other for child trafficking victims - girls who have been rescued from exploitative and abusive Indian circuses. All the workers are 16 years or older and part of the beauty of the project is that the able-bodied girls have learned sign language so that the isolation that goes with deafness is being broken down. The other element of the beauty is the wonderful mosaic work that is being done, most notably on a large wall mosaic of a jungle scene (attached image) that has just been completed.

Our donations will help fund the creation of a second wall mosaic, as beautiful as the first, have a look at the other photos to see how the work is progressing.
