Story
On May 4th 2008, Caroline and Matthew Byatt are abseiling down the Church Langley Water Tower (Harlow). The tower stands next to the M11 and many of you will have driven past it.. Matthew's company (Newhall Projects) is sponsoring the charity abseil so this is an excellent opportunity for us both to raise funds for ILPH. Caroline is currently caring for her second palomino mare on loan from the ILPH and so we have first hand experience of the excellent work this charity does. ILPH is not a retirement home and the equines they re-home have useful lives as ridden or companion horses and ponies. Their overseas work and campaigning is serious stuff and a continuous reminder of just how lucky we are with lush paddocks, warm stables and more than enough food and water. The work they do for horses overseas directly helps the below poverty line owners and saves human lives. Loaning ILPH Athena is hugely rewarding and we want to give something back to the charity which brought us together. Caroline has a real fear of heights so abseiling down this enormous water tower is going to be a REAL challenge for her - and this is her 'feel the fear and do it anyway' moment! Matthew is playing it cool... Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us. International League for the Protection of Horses will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Thank you so much for taking the time to sponsor us both!!
