Hello all! Thought I would write a little note now the event has passed. The day was a huge success, and everyone in the team did really well. I think I can say with some confidence everyone enjoyed themselves too! Thank you to all of you for your support, I am still collecting in sponsorship but will be sure to let you know of the total amount raised. Best wishes Caroline x x x x
In February 2007, my Dad suffered a cardiac arrest which led to a possible diagnosis of Brugada Syndrome. We were told that the condition was hereditary so his close family had to be tested. We all saw this as a routine, precautionary measure. Never for one moment did we truly think it may affect us. On the 12th June 2007 I was diagnosed with Brugada Syndrome, even now that day remains a bit of a blur. My family and I were so shocked, like my Dad I had always been healthy and never had any problems. I was advised that the best option of treatment was to have an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD). I had the operation last July, and it is something I still coming to terms with. CRY have been an incredible source of support and information to my family but especially to me. Before our family was affected we knew nothing of rare heart conditions which could remain undiagnosed. CRY have provided me with so much support, especially through their Surgery Support group for young people. Through which I have met people I can truly talk to, and understand what I am going through. I have put together Team Nugget to take part in CRY's Heart of London Bridge Walk. Our team is a collection of family and close friends. Please dig deep and sponser us! It is very simple through this site, and if applicable don't forget to tick the Gift Aid box! Thank you to everyone for your support Caroline x x x
