I have been given the opportunity to run the London Marathon in aid of the British Forces Foundation, whose mission is “To provide top quality, morale-boosting entertainment for the men and women of Britain’s Armed Forces, principally on operations all over the world – conveying the gratitude of the British public for the sacrifices they make”. 

 

I, for one, am in huge admiration of all our service personnel who are based in places like Afghanistan, Iraq, and Sierra Leone, and am proud to be raising money for such a fantastic charity.  Every day we are reminded of the huge risks and unenviable conditions faced by our troops and feel helpless in their plight.  By supporting the British Forces Foundation, we are helping by giving a lift to the men and women of British Armed Forces abroad, and showing that we care about and support what they are doing, and really do appreciate the sacrifices (in many cases ultimate) that they are making.

 

Donating through Just Giving is simple, fast and totally secure.  Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity and make sure  Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.  So it's the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
