Thankyou for visiting my fundraising page! In November 2008, I (and four friends) plan to cycle 500km from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to Angor Wat in Cambodia to raise money for charity. I've chosen to fundraise for the "Northamptonshire Society for Autism" (NSA), as it is a local charity very close to my heart. Autism is a complex disability which affects the social and communication skills of about 1 in 100 people. My son, now 12, was diagnosed with an autistic spectrum disorder at the age of 4. It has been an emotional roller coaster of medical and educational issues over the past few years. NSA gave us practical support when we needed it most - running parent courses, helping with form filling, writing (and rewriting!) school statements and manning a sympathetic and well informed helpline. Many families are left adrift after the medical diagnosis of autism, and NSA works hard to help them make sense of it and move forward. I am fundraising for NSA because I'd like to say "thankyou" and hope that other families continue to have access to the types of help we received. So pleeeeeeease sponsor me! Donating through this web site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me. NSA will receive your money straight away and, if you are a UK tax payer, and extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no extra cost to you. Over this coming year, we will also be busy fundraising as a team, with a fashion show, carboot sales and more. Your donation is really appreciated! Thankyou Caroline
