Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Its now over a year since we lost Julie.
During the short period of Julie's illness I spent many hours in her company, often discussing what the future held. It was during this time that Julie expressed her desire to undertake a fundraising event in support of Macmillan. Unfortunately time was not on her side so I feel very privileged to be able to do this on her behalf .
I was very lucky to enjoy Julie's very close friendship for almost 40 years and my life has been so much richer for it , so for me this Challenge is not only in memory of her but also a celebration of her life.
I will be starting the trek on 24th May 2008 and will be back in the UK on 2nd June 2008. To celebrate this achievement and to raise even more money I have organised a night at the Canberra Club (BAE Samlesbury) on Friday 13th June 2008.
At this event the star of the show will be Alex Johnson, Julie's son, who will be performing a selection of his chosen songs and I'm sure he will not disappoint.
Tickets are £15 each and additional to Alex there will be entertainment from top class party band "THE FUNTIME FRANKIES" supper and raffle.
If you would like to join us I can be contacted on 01254 248232 or 07815 503451. You can also email me at worrell@edsnw.co.uk,
Hopefully I'll have survived the trek and will be there to join in the fun!
I look forward to seeing you there.
Carol
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
