Carry On Up The Thames · 21 August 2008

We bring the power of cinema to hospitals, building and running fully accessible, state-of-the-art cinemas for NHS patients and families. Free of charge, our film screenings ease pain, reduce anxiety, and boost resilience during tough times. All at no cost to the NHS.

Story

In a world where rivers make the rules, 8 men have come together to break them. One journey, one river, 4 canoes, 8 men, 120 miles, 31 locks and 3 nights in a heart warming tale of love, ardour, companionship, action and good olde English grit. Hero’s will be born and bonds formed that can never be broken. Coming to theThames near you on September 25th.

From the 25th September to the 28th September, 8 guys will be undertaking an arduous journey from Iffley lock just outside Oxford to the Albert Embankment in central London. It is a 120 mile journey, facing obstacles ranging from locks to weirs and the perilous tidal Thames, all in the name of charity, MediCinema!

MediCinema is the charity that installs cinemas in hospitals. We are raising funds to bring the magic of the Silver Screen to the young patients of the Evelina Children's Hospital at St Thomas', so please give generously.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: MediCinema receives your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

We will end our epic journey at 'Thamesis' the boat bar along the Albert Embankment on Sunday 28th September.... late afternoon, so feel free to come and join in on the celebrations!!

We look forward to seeing you there!

Many Thanks

Simon, Paul,  Alex,  Nathan,  Artur, Tristian, Chris, John & Dan
